The School of Political Science and Public Administration of Guangxi University for Nationalities was founded in March, 2016. The origin of political science research can be traced back to the 1960s as a department of Guangxi University for Nationalities.

   The School of Political Science and Public Administration has more than 1100 full-time undergraduate students; 194 graduate students including 97 academic master and 97professional Master of Public Administration(MPA). There are 21 international students among the academic master from separately Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, etc.

   It has 42 teaching and administrative staff including 22 with Doctor’s degree and 15 with Master's degree. There are 37 full-time teachers with 13 professors (two professors at the national level 2), sever associate professors, four doctoral supervisors, one committee member of Teaching and Guidance Committee of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, one“Excellent Expert” of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and one Taiwanese doctor.

   The School of Political Science and Public Administration has one Doctoral Program of second-level discipline of “Public Management in Ethnic Areas”, two Master Programs of first-level discipline of Political Science and Public Management. It has post “Guangxi BaGui Scholars” of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as well as “Public Security Governance Institute of Boarderl and Minortity Area”and“Guangxi Insitute of Urban Governance and Development”.It started to enroll Master of Public Administration (MPA) in 2011; Public Administration was identified as an ethnic characteristic discipline in Guangxi; Political Science and Public Administration became special major with character in Guangxi.Public Administration became core discipline and major in Guangxi.

The Political Science and Public Administration gains achievements in both teaching and research. It presides10 national fund projects, 14 projects at provincial and ministerial level.It strengthen continually international exchanges and cooperation.
