Vice President Jiang Mingguo: Cultivating Youths as Bridges of Friendship

Vice President Jiang extended a warm welcome to the Thai students. He emphasized that the camp serves as a vital platform for deepening cultural exchanges between Chinese and Thai youth, urging participants to experience the charm of Chinese culture, appreciate Guangxi’s unique ethnic traditions and development achievements, and become envoys of China-Thailand friendship.

Highlighting the profound China-Thailand family bond, Jiang noted that Guangxi, as China’s gateway to ASEAN, plays a key role in promoting people-to-people exchanges with Laos. He introduced Guangxi Minzu University’s strengths in Thai language education, extensive university partnerships, and support for Thai students pursuing studies in China. I hope you will use this opportunity to deepen your expertise, build mutual trust, and inject lasting youth energy into China-Thailand cooperation, he added.

Mr. Preechanont Preelekha, a teacher from Thailand’s Surin Rajabhat University, expressed gratitude to Guangxi Minzu University for organizing the camp. This event not only celebrates the 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic relations but also embodies the enduring friendship between our two countries, she stated. She hoped the camp would enable Thai students to learn Chinese language and culture, experience traditional customs, and gain insights into Guangxi’s ethnic diversity and regional characteristics, further boosting bilateral cultural exchanges.

Mr. Kritsanapong Maliwan, a student from Ubon Ratchathani Second Chinese School, shared his decade-long journey learning Chinese. As youth envoys, we will actively engage in cultural exchanges, share our experiences in China with people in Thailand, and ensure our friendship thrives across generations, he pledged.

Exchange of  Commemorative Gifts

Vice President Jiang Mingguo presented the camp flag to the participants, and both sides exchanged souvenirs and took a group photo. The 10-day camp will take Thai youth to Nanning, Guilin, and Liuzhou for cultural immersion and academic exchanges. It aims to strengthen youth bonds and promote mutual learning between Chinese and Thai cultures.
