On the afternoon of November 24, Guangxi Minzu University (GXMZU) held an honorary professor appointment ceremony at the Lecture Hall on the second floor of the Library, Siyuanhu Campus. H.E. Phann Vanrath, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office of Cambodia, was appointed as Honorary Professor. Wei Shizhen, President of GXMZU, attended the ceremony and presented the appointment letter to H.E. Phann Vanrath. The ceremony was hosted by Deng Guobin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the China-ASEAN Law School of GXMZU.

President Wei extended a warm welcome to H.E. Phann Vanrath and praised his “profound expertise and outstanding contributions to judicial practice and regional legal cooperation.” She emphasized that the appointment marks a key step in deepening China-ASEAN legal exchanges, expressing hope that H.E. Phann Vanrath will “support GXMZU’s disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and international collaboration, jointly building a high-end legal talent training base for ASEAN and contributing to the closer China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future.”
H.E. Phann Vanrath thanked GXMZU for the honor and recognized the university’s “innovative practices and remarkable achievements in nurturing ASEAN-related legal talents.” He pledged to “build a bridge for China-Cambodia academic exchanges, share Cambodia’s judicial experience, and promote in-depth cooperation in legal research and faculty-student exchanges,” aiming to enhance regional high-quality legal talent development and deepen China-Cambodia judicial collaboration and China-ASEAN legal mutual learning.
Following the ceremony, H.E. Phann Vanrath delivered a keynote lecture titled ”My Journey in Law: Messages to Young Legal Professionals in an Era of Change”, engaging in lively interactions with faculty and students.
Officials from GXMZU’s Human Resources Department, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, China-ASEAN Law School, and College of Southeast Asian Languages and Cultures, along with faculty and student representatives, attended the event.
