On the morning of November 14, Wei Shizhen, President of Guangxi Minzu University(GXMZU), met with a visiting delegation led by Rongyu Li, Vice President of The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. The meeting focused on the implementation and development of the Chinese-Foreign High-Level University Student Exchange Program. Also present were GXMZU Vice President Jiang Mingguo and other university officials.

The Meeting Scene

President Wei extended a warm welcome to the UQ delegation. She expressed her hope that UQ would provide robust support for students participating in the Exchange Program, particularly by strengthening language instruction and management to improve students' proficiency. She emphasized the importance of joint efforts to ensure the effective implementation and sustainable development of the program, thereby advancing the internationalization of higher education at both institutions.

Vice President Jiang Mingguo proposed broadening the scope of cooperation through short-term exchange programs for both faculty and students. These could include faculty visits, student summer camps, and short-term workshops. He also highlighted the need for high-level research collaboration, aiming to create more opportunities for academic staff and researchers from both universities to connect and cooperate.

Vice President Rongyu Li responded by calling for strengthened two-way communication regarding the Exchange Program. He emphasized the importance of working together to resolve challenges and help students better adapt to their overseas study environments. Furthermore, he advocated for expanding joint student training into more academic disciplines, deepening the partnership to drive the program’s long-term growth.

Exchange of Commemorative Gifts

Following the formal discussion, the two sides exchanged gifts. A meet-and-greet session was subsequently held with students participating in the program at the University Student Activity Center.
