On the morning of September 24, Guangxi Minzu University held the opening ceremony for its 2026 international students in the Grand Auditorium of the Xiangsihu Campus. President Wei Shizhen attended the ceremony and presented university emblems to student representatives. Vice President Gao Xingyu presided over the ceremony. All international students of the 2026 cohort attended.

Wei Shizhen encouraged the new international students to devote themselves to learning, deepen their professional knowledge, study fine traditional Chinese culture, respect cultural differences, and engage in friendly exchanges. She hoped they would serve as bridges of friendship who understand China and are friendly to China, and contribute youthful strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Lin Jingyi, a faculty representative, encouraged the international students to study diligently, make friends widely, and experience the real China, so as to gain knowledge, friendship, and growth on their academic journey. Nguyen Van Truong, a Vietnamese student representative at the university, hoped that the new students would have the courage to surpass themselves. An Ning from Laos, Li Na from Russia, and Dong Jia from the Central African Republic, speaking on behalf of the new students, said they would cherish the learning opportunities, respect cultural diversity, and strive to be friendly envoys of people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
