From August 23 to 30, a delegation from the Institute for History and Culture of Science and Technology at Guangxi Minzu University (GXMZU), consisting of Professor Wang Changming, Professor Wu Zhiyuan, Professor Huang Quansheng, Professor Li Dawei, and Associate Professor Zou Guisen, visited Thailand at the invitation of the Fine Arts Department of the Thai Ministry of Culture and the Faculty of Archaeology of Silpakorn University to carry out academic exchanges.

The Chinese and Thai sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation matters related to the major project of The National Social Science Fund of China, "A History of Ancient Scientific and Technological Exchanges between China and Southeast Asia." The Chinese side introduced the university's programs in cultural heritage and its scholarship policies for students from Southeast Asia. Both sides agreed that the cultural traditions of China and Thailand are closely connected, and that strengthening cooperation in archaeological science is of great significance for safeguarding the protection and development of regional cultures.

This visit is an important measure by GXMZU to deepen its internationality-oriented educational characteristics and strengthen academic exchanges with Southeast Asian countries. The two sides have essentially established an intention to cooperate and reached a preliminary consensus on a research plan. In the future, they will carry out cooperation in accordance with the specific research plan, jointly pushing China-Thailand cooperation in archaeological science to a new level and contributing to the protection of regional cultural heritage and mutual learning among civilizations.
