Brief Introduction to the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering
The School of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Guangxi Minzu University was established in June 2019. It is located in Wuming Education Park, with a total construction area of 12,530 m², including 9,698 m²for professional laboratories and 1,332 m²for the training center. The college consists of the Department of Architecture, the Department of Civil Engineering, and the Department of Engineering Management.
The school currently has 51 faculty members. Among them, there are 38 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 5 with senior professional titles, 9 with associate senior professional titles , and the proportion of senior professional titles reaches 37%. There are 18 teachers with intermediate professional titles, accounting for 47%. There are 18 faculty members with doctoral degrees, accounting for 35%. There are 33 faculty members with master's degrees, accounting for 65%. There is one of the world's top 2% of scientists, one Elsevier China Highly Cited Researcher, one member of the "Hundred Talents Program for Introducing Overseas High-level Talents to Guangxi Universities", one outstanding young talent of Guangxi, one recipient of the Guangxi Outstanding Engineer Award, one winner of the Guangxi Youth Science and Technology Award, and one teaching expert among young teachers in Guangxi's undergraduate universities. There is one flexibly introduced talent and 14 part-time professors.
In recent years, the college, in collaboration with enterprises, has been approved to establish the "Guangxi Sponge City Technology Innovation Center" and the "Nanning Engineering Operation and Maintenance Intelligent Monitoring and Testing Engineering Technology Research Center". It has presided over and undertaken more than 20 various scientific research projects, published over 30 scientific research papers, including 12 core papers. In 2023, Professor Qin Yinghong's research achievement, "Wind-driven devicefor cooling permafrost", was published in Nature Communications. With over ten SCI-indexed papers, the number of authorized invention patents has exceeded 10, and 5 new utility model patents have been authorized. Won one excellence award in the finals of the first National Disruptive Technology Innovation Competition.
The college offers three undergraduate programs: Architecture, Civil Engineering and Engineering Management. Currently, it has 1,106 undergraduate students. In recent years, the college has been awarded 6 autonomous regional-level teaching reform projects and 7 university-level teaching reform projects. The teacher has published four teaching research papers as the first author. The college has been awarded one first-class undergraduate course at the autonomous region level. One third prize was won in the National College Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition, one special prize in the Autonomous Region-level Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition, one first prize and one second prize in the Autonomous Region-level Young Teachers' Teaching Competition, three first prizes and six second prizes in the university-level Young Teachers' Teaching Competition, and two first prizes and one second prize in the university-level teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition.
The college attaches great importance to the cultivation of innovation ability and has cultivated a large number of outstanding students who are active in thinking, have a strong sense of innovation and strong practical ability. In the past five years, students have won 8 national-level and 33 district-level innovation and entrepreneurship projects. Won 1 national bronze award, 3 gold awards, 7 silver awards and 2 bronze awards in the Guangxi region of the China International College Students Innovation Competition. Won one silver award and two bronze awards at the district level in the "Challenge Cup" College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition. The number of papers published by students is 5, and the number of patents (Copyrights) obtained by students is 36. A total of 35 national-level competition awards and 131 provincial-level competition awards were won.
