On the morning of May 18, 2018, the Final Competition of the Laos Competition Area of the 17^th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students, sponsored by China’s Laos-based embassy and organized by Chinese Department, College of Languages, National University of Laos, was held in National University of Laos. 12 contestants rivaled for the titles. Bouaphan YACHONGTOU, a contestant from the Confucius Institute of National University of Laos, won the first title. Mr. Somchanh BOUNPHANMY, Vice President of National University of Laos, Mr. Ding Qing, director of the Chinese Culture Center in Laos, and around 400 faculty and student representatives from Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos, Soochow University in Laos, Liaodu Chinese School and National University of Laos, attended the activity.
